Cycling over the Col de la Forclaz (panoramic view of the lake)

The Col de la Forclaz is one of the most iconic climbs around Lake Annecy.

  • Elevation gain: approximately 800 m
  • Hike length: 8 to 10 km, depending on the starting point
  • Level: Athletic

The climb usually starts in Talloires or Doussard. The first few kilometers are relatively flat, but the slope gradually steepens, with several challenging sections.

What makes this climb legendary: an exceptional panoramic view of the lake, the famous paragliding launch site at the summit, and a sense of challenge that’s within everyone’s reach

This climb is very popular among cyclists, especially in the summer. It’s still perfectly manageable on an e-bike, which lets you enjoy the scenery without pushing yourself too hard.

Once you reach the summit, the reward is immediate: one of the most beautiful views in Haute-Savoie.
